Eastern Towhee by Sarita Yeola

September 2021 - Eastern Towhee

About the Image(s)

This juvenile eastern towhee seemed surprised to find an acorn that was too big for its mouth size. It looked in all directions before it dropped the acorn. I used topaz DeNoise for this final image.

Nikon D500 500mm, f/5.6, 1/2500, ISO 3200.

I love the "action" you captured in this image. He definitely looks surprised. Your positioning of the bird in the frame is great, leaving plenty of room in front of him. Nice job!!!   Posted: 09/09/2021 11:39:14

Sarita!

This is a beautiful photograph! Nicely done.

Have you looked at the photo without the vegetation in front of the stump?   Posted: 09/27/2021 11:18:53

Thanks Christine for your comments. I considered removing the vegetation in post processing but with the birds leg being directly behind the leaf, this was not possible. I remember thinking while taking the photo that it was in the way but any movement from me would have startled the little one.   Posted: 09/28/2021 11:51:34
