I rarely get to see any hummingbirds around here, yet I know they are somewhere. We just haven't crossed paths yet! They are for me one of the tougher birds to capture because of their speed. You did a great job of isolating the head and allowing the wings to show movement.   Posted: 09/09/2021 12:30:14

If anyone is interested let me know by replying to this comment. Tom Bol, a Professional photographer, just posted a blog on the Nikon Website (I believe) about photographing hummers. and one of the specific things he mentioned was you have to start out knowing if you want the wings blurred or sharp. Good generic article even if it is on the Nikon space. I just have to find the link.   Posted: 09/18/2021 09:46:02

I also never see hummers. I bought a feeder to use up north this summer but never had time to set it up and monitor and clean it. Maybe next year.
This is beautiful and I love how the bird if floating in air, I like the bit of blurred wings.   Posted: 09/20/2021 15:23:17

Donald, Beautiful hummingbird! Love the fact that you caught the catch light in his eyes.
Focus looks a bit soft to me; could be my computer.   Posted: 09/27/2021 11:33:06

Donald, Very nice photo of the hummingbird. The beautiful color of the background and the hummer showing off its red throat makes the bird really stand out.
Last month a friend presented me with a hummingbird feeder. Within hours the ruby throated hummingbirds were at the feeder. They are constantly chasing each other away from the feeder. It has been real fun watching them.   Posted: 09/28/2021 11:27:11
