About the Image(s)
I took this shot on Goudier Island, home to Port Lockroy, the home to the southern most post office in the world run by the British. Mailing an item from there can take 1-3 months (it took ~2 months for us to get a postcard we sent!).
Taken with Nikon Z8 with a 24-120 f/4. Shot at 120mm, 500 ISO, 1/640th at f/18.
I like the simplicity of the one Gentoo that had just hiked up there, admiring the beautiful landscape.

I like the postal story, interesting.
I've come back to this image a few times. I am a little distracted by the brownish snow in the lower right corner. I am wondering if the could be toned down or cropped. I agree how it looks like he is surveying the landscape.   Posted: 03/10/2025 22:53:54

In general I don't care for images where the subject is facing away from the photographer. However, in this image the penguin walking away in this composition is working well.I love the composition. I would say you can lose about half the sky as there is not much interesting there. For the rest very appealing   Posted: 03/11/2025 16:52:46
