About the Image(s)

I was on another trip through central Oregon and decided to stop at the Painted Hills fossil monument. It was mid morning on a bright sunny day. There are several different rock formations there but this one gave me the best shot considering the shadows. For post processing I mostly did sharpening, haze reduction and color balance. I was using my Canon R; 24-105 lens at 105mm; Aperture f/14; shutter speed 1/125 and ISO 250. To me this is another example of the diversity of Oregon's environment.

Darn, Oregon has a lot of different types of landscapes! Good job on the DOF here. My story about the lone tiny tree is that it's surviving in an area that looks like both the heat of the summer and possible cold winters would make it hard to survive, but it fights on.   Posted: 10/05/2024 21:42:11

I am glad you shared the original. Your version, after PP is more impressive. It seems, Edward, that you have been studying. Your PP work is paying off. Very nice image   Posted: 10/08/2024 21:28:23

You are showing a side of Oregon I did not see. I agree with Dawn about the lone tree.   Posted: 10/12/2024 17:35:44

What a delightful view! This kind of landscape, which seems close but actually has some distance, is hard to find in Hong Kong. That tree really looks a bit lonely, haha. This scenery is perfect for showcasing the relationship between light and shadow, and look forward to seeing it during sunrise or sunset. Good shot!   Posted: 10/18/2024 06:07:49

Oregon is an amazing State and Ed is showing us parts of it with stunning photos. This is a great composition, perfectly rendered, of a different type of natural beauty. I was in Ashland last week (which I like a lot) and Ed's pictures make me think I need to venture further.   Posted: 10/18/2024 16:46:31
