Hi Jeff, First of all let me say that I think the subject is great! To my eye that the composition is right on. It appears that man is having eye contact but not posing for the camera, which I think that works very well. Also, solating his face in the B&W image is perfect.   Posted: 05/04/2023 12:27:39

Thank you, I first looked at it in pure b/w but his face blended into the rest of the picture.
I have found if you stand on a high traffic street corner (this one was in Downtown Los Angeles) you can watch the whole world pass.   Posted: 05/04/2023 14:44:45

Hi Jeff, You captured the expression of the gentleman on the bus very well. I thought the reason the subject was not separable in B&W is because there were strong highlights around him which were distracting. I tried to cutdown those highlights and cropped a bit. Love to hear what you think.   Posted: 05/07/2023 13:48:56

I like it, my version was to show that it was a picture of a bus. I do not think anything is lost with your crop. Thank you   Posted: 05/08/2023 11:40:33

Very interesting and a good street shot. The guy has you nailed which really makes the story. I want to see more of his face in BW. The roght side windows are part of the story telling. To me the original image without cropping is best. Here is my try.   Posted: 05/08/2023 12:38:35

I like this version too, each version is in the eye of the beholder.   Posted: 05/09/2023 11:13:20

Excellent photograph! I really like the man's expression and the composition. The framing is spot on. I see a yellow halo around the man's head - is that from the selective color? I prefer that the entire photo be B&W. I prefer Chuck's version which lightened the man's face.   Posted: 05/09/2023 09:55:04

Thank you, yes it was selective color. I thought that there was not enough contrast between the face and the rest of the picture, so I put the color back in. As others have shown that may not be the case.

Having the grey and a splash of colour is very effective. I was drawn to his expression. A good street photo. I like Chuck's cropped version, but like your colour. Combining the two would be good, I think.   Posted: 05/22/2023 23:59:12

I guess what throws me off the most is the face is fantastic but I think his skin tone should be the arm also. I may take away from the shot, but it is a little strange to me. Love the all black and white. Just overall a great shot!!   Posted: 05/24/2023 07:18:52
