About the Image(s)

I took this photo of the Varsity theater in Davis California on a morning in July. It's part of an ongoing project I have been working on that profiles Davis, which is known for its sleepy nature. The photos in this project tend to be taken in the morning or evening to show Davis in the morning or evening light. Being mostly a quiet and unique town I have seen Davis as a place to profile. This image is part of the project. I left the image as is for the most part.

Nice portrait of the old theater. For help I would open up the heavily shadowed covered entry. Suggest shooting this again earlier or later whenever the sunlight makes for better lighting. Holding the camera level would correct the backward leaning perspective. A slight vignette is appropriate as well. Having a rider on the bicycle would be nice.

Thank you Chuck. I do have plans to get a shot in the earlier morning and early evening. I'll try the other techniques as well. Hopefully I can get a shot of someone on a bike. This is part of an ongoing project.   Posted: 01/13/2022 07:37:57

Make sure the bike rider is wearing a red jacket :)
Seriously, I agree with Chuck's comments. I think the backward lean could easily be corrected in Lightroom.   Posted: 01/18/2022 16:16:37

Thank you Lou, I'll check out the adjustment in Lightroom. I'm wondering if it could be the way the building is designed. I'll be out there this weekend and I'll check it out.   Posted: 01/19/2022 09:38:07
