About the Image(s)

We were on the Oregon coast recently and did quite a bit of landscape photography, both normal spectrum and IR. At one of the overlooks we visited, I noticed these ferns coming out of a rock wall. I really like the look of white foliage against a dark surface, so I took a series of images hoping one of them might work. I took this one into Lightroom Classic, applied the B&W 10 profile and did some basic exposure adjustments and cropped it into a square. I then took it into Photoshop and cleaned up extraneous bits around the edges.
Sony A6500 (full spectrum conversion) with 720nm filter. Sony 18-105 f/4 lens, 86mm, f/5.6, 1/160 second, ISO 640. Shot handheld.

I like the detail in the fern leaves. Even a zoom in on just a few would make a great creative image.   Posted: 11/16/2021 12:09:55

I had the same thought as Gary... i.e., something like isolate the three lightest on top and make them more prominent. I like the crop.   Posted: 11/23/2021 17:09:12
