About the Image(s)

Bird of Paradise (BOP): This (portion of a) cutting had been growing on a large BOP in my front yard about a week ago. The cutting was taken in the house and photographed, using spot metering, in front of a black fabric background. I used ‘object selection’ to isolate these blooms, then ‘select inverse’ and edit fill with the darkest color remaining in the image,

One could reason that you do not really need to use an IR camera to do this, but I did, just putting one foot in front of the other. The original image was captured with a Panasonic G7, converted with a 590nm Supercolor filter 12-60mm Lumix lens at 38mm, f/ll, 1/10 sec,

This is outstanding, Chuck. I love the simplicity of the composition and the stark contrast between the white flowers and the dark background. I suspect IR made accentuated the white in the flowers.   Posted: 10/13/2021 14:18:07
