About the Image(s)
The image was captured in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, just west of Las Vegas, NV. I used a Panasonic G7K which had been converted to IR with a 590nm Supercolor filter by Life Pixel. 12-60 mm Lumix lens at 20 mm, f/5.6, 1/640 sec, ISO 200, Aperture priority, Pattern metering. Exposure was adjusted in PhotoShop, followed by conversion to B&W in Silver Effects Pro, using the Wet Rocks preset.

I like your processing a great deal, but I think you might have been too aggressive with your cropping. Looking at the original, I find I really like both the foreground rock and the upper clouds. The image seems better balanced to me.   Posted: 07/07/2021 13:03:52

Henry, I understand your comment and you are right. When I did the final crop I really liked the 'up front and personal' feeling I got being able to see the close up detail in the bush and mistletoe.   Posted: 07/07/2021 18:07:18
I like the crop of the original since I am not pulled away from the main subject of the image. We have mistletoe in my area but not as dense. To me that looks like sage brush blown into a tree. But then maybe in Nevada . . .   Posted: 07/08/2021 12:07:37
I'm leaning towards the original composition; it seems softer and more emotive.   Posted: 07/20/2021 06:41:32
