I wanted to not name this bird and ask if you could identify it. But I reconsidered and decided that was not appropriate! We usually take photos of these guys as they spread their wings to dry or swallow a whole fish they flip and catch to go down their throats. He is amazing.

I like the detail of the front feathers and the composition Ginny. A little more detail in the front would balance the overall exposure. Can't help on the ID.   Posted: 11/08/2023 14:36:05
We were having trouble with our site as I was posting photos for November - the title is: Anhinga   Posted: 11/10/2023 14:52:50
Hi Jinny. It's a very nice bird portrait. I love the soft feather textures around the neck.   Posted: 11/12/2023 02:41:53
Nice big image for us to review! Yeah!!!
Good levels across the entire image and focus is adequate although the short DoF means the front portion of the subject's beak falls out of focus.
That said, because the full subject is not in frame, I would crop even tighter to highlight the eye especially as the bottom half of the bird (the darker feathers are pretty boring.
