About the Image(s)

Staying with relatively high key images of birds, Delicate Balance was taken while on a winter visit to Hokkaido with two friends. We were mainly there for landscape images but could not resist the opportunity to visit the cranes. I thought the snow in the background was distracting so removed it using a mask and blended in the snow in the foreground. I wanted the focus to be on the angular structure of the legs, neck and head but perhaps the crop is too tight?

I really like the close up version better. Probably it is the details that draw me in. Snow is not a problem for me.   Posted: 09/06/2021 10:35:25

I agree with Ginny the close up is very compelling either the angles created by its legs. Nice image   Posted: 09/06/2021 15:09:29

Thanks for your comments Ginny and Dan. I will definitely go with the cropped high key version.   Posted: 09/23/2021 12:07:02
