Bufflehead Pair by Dan McKenna

May 2021 - Bufflehead Pair

About the Image(s)

Sony A1, Sony 200-600mm 5.6-6.3, 1/500s, f6.3, ISO 125. These birds were about 200' from the shore, so I ran the image through Topaz Gigapixel AI and then cropped in

The ducks are great! That water drop falling from the bill! Is it possible to make the eyes more visible?   Posted: 05/02/2021 09:30:54

I dodged both their heads already Ginny. It's tough with the white and not blowing that in the exposure. I just hope I can open the shadows in post when I set the exposure What technique do you do?   Posted: 05/02/2021 13:03:09

Very simple Lightroom techniques. I am going to restart a Lightroom class I have already done once and hope to learn more! (that is why I asked.)   Posted: 05/02/2021 13:29:41

Buffleheads are hard to photograph with the bright whites and the dark blacks. These ducks like to stay out in the middle of the warted and are hard to get a nice background. Nice . Dan   Posted: 05/04/2021 20:40:09
