About the Image(s)

This image was taken a few days ago at Sandy Ridge Reservation in Ohio.
I used a Sony 7R III body with the Sony 100-400 mm lens. ISO 4000, 150 mm, f/8, 1/2000 sec.
I have been watching this pair of Sandhill Cranes for a few years and I do not think they had a baby before. I really wanted to see the chick! It was 10 days old when I was able to visit the park. We had a week of very heavy rains and it was my first opportunity. When I spotted them, the family was feeding in a high grass area and the baby was barely viable, so I waited and waited... And then they crossed the pass to the other side of the pond and I had my chance to see the family in the open. I personally love this image and I hope everyone in our group will appreciate it.

Nice Shot Marina! I've shot these birds in Pa and I know they can be elusive. But   Posted: 05/16/2023 11:16:15

Very nice image of this family of birds. I especially like that we see the baby framed by its parent's legs.   Posted: 05/22/2023 14:08:16
