Shot at Dandeli, a village town in Southern India nestled in the Western Ghats Biosphere reserve. This is a beautiful bird and relatively endemic to the place. Shot using 500mm f4 and Canon 60D.

A very nice image of this colorful bird. I flipped your image your image horizontally ,then ran it through Topaz DeNoise and Sharpen. I cropped the image on the top and right side, and lightened the eye ,so that stands out a little more.   Posted: 06/17/2021 14:51:52

Very nice - Love the color and the image is sharp. Denoise - well there you have an example and it does make a difference.

As far a flipping the image - to this day I have not been given a justifiable rational other then we read from left to right and it is just more pleasing to see birds (and other critters) is that position especially for competitive judging. I am still open for the rational behind this.

I find that if this was 5 years ago that the image quality would have probably been very acceptable regardless good composition and nice image   Posted: 06/21/2021 17:48:47
