About the Image(s)

Autumn is a magical season for landscape photography because of the wondrous views we are blessed with in Wisconsin. October is a magical month as trees graduate in foliage coloring and present many opportunities to observe breath-taking beauty like this stand of Birch trees. Tech stuff: ISO 100, f/11, 1/20 sec., manual exposure, pattern metering, 130mm focal length. Standard RAW processing through LR then PS, then into TopazStudio for several fall presets and discovered two that I hadn’t used before. Put into LR for some gradient adjustments and then finished in PS with some dodging and burning.

Wow, love this. The range of fall colors and quality of light is wonderful, especially moving from a dark bottom to a sun-streamed top. But, what I really like is the white bark, like skeletons in the forest. My only suggestion is that I think you over did the darkening (dodge and burn?) in the two upper corners, they seem too out of place, other than that - marvelous.   Posted: 10/04/2021 18:38:46

Trey, what makes this image have impact for me is the touch of god light you added to the top center of the trees. Next, is what you did to bring out of the white of the bark and the deepening of the red in the leaves. What a lovely image.   Posted: 10/09/2021 20:24:47

Hi Charles, I like the overall color of the image, especially the white of the trunk goes well with this image. The layout that you design closely between the top and bottom gives the impression of the tree's height and emphasizes the theme and main color of the autumn leaves. The post processing part in the upper leaf array, I suggest that you may not need it, you can only increase the brightness of the main board. Thank you for sharing and making a very interesting impression when you see this work of art. Best regards   Posted: 10/13/2021 09:22:59
