About the Image(s)

This image was captured on a photo outing to Capitola California. (The place is a photographers dream.) The image itself was fairly bland due to the flat light. What caught my interest was the people looking over the rail on an incredibly interesting and intricate pier. Between cropping, replacing the sky, increasing saturation and brightness and adding some haze I hoped to provide the viewer with a sense of this mystical place. Luminar 4 and Topaz Sharpen post. This shot was via tripod, ISO 50, f10, at 1/25th. Camera: Sony A7Rii with Tamron 28-75.

Rich, amazing post processing work. You transformed an ordinary photograph of a pier into something quite extraordinary. I like the sky replacement, and the rich colors. What does the image look like without haze? Is it still fanciful?   Posted: 09/12/2021 21:47:49

Hi Rich, I like this place, and the pier looks danger because of its high, but seems stable when the car and house can stay. There is funny the people and bird are also enjoying the scenery in front.

Rich,
You have captured a very vibrant and rich image, from a somewhat dull one. The people add a very important part of the photo giving it a sense of life. The moss on the poles looks like little monsters climbing up to the pier. A very captivating image. I only find two things a bit distracting. The car and the radio tower. I'm going to see if I can remove them and see what the image looks like. The car is going to be difficult to remove. Let me know if you would like to see the results.   Posted: 09/15/2021 08:37:53

Rich,
The edit to remove the car was so much easier then I thought. A new program I just bought InPixio removed the car and placed fencing in its place. It was something I thought I should share with you and the members of the group.   Posted: 09/16/2021 19:49:39

Hi Rich, thank you for sharing a photo of a beautiful place in California. Even though the original photo is very ordinary, you have done the post-production with great care and time. Personally, I like the composition of the original shot because it has a little bit of waves and the reflection of the bridge. In order to make the image catch the eye of the viewer, I think you can go further to let the waves recede you will have a sand surface like a mirror reflecting the pier. Thank you for being dedicated to art of photography to share us. Best regards   Posted: 09/19/2021 22:47:36
