About the Image(s)

What attracted me to shoot this was the sensualness of the curves in the hills behind my house at the same time keeping in mind the effects of the drought that the western states face. I live in an area called Evergreen, and as you can see that is not the case. My goal was to accentuate the curves and add more focus on the hills, like changing the sky and darkening the foreground. This was shot with a Sony A6000, at 54 mm, f/10, 160 sec. hand held. All edits done in Luminar 4.

Hi Rich,
I would say you have captured your intent with the smooth-rolling and intermingle of the hills. When I stare at the photo I envision beautiful women. NFI in that regard. Even the sky is set to not take away from the hills. You have captured the moment. I'm glad to see a fellow Luminar user.
I started with Lum 4 and now use Luminar AI. If you wanted you probably could have made those evergreens darker with Luminar.
I would have left it as you did. Thanks for letting me review your photo. PS. I'm trying to some how get to Yosemite this year. I understand there are not a lot of people out there yet.

Rich, you took this image at the right time of day to give it a nearly 3D feeling. I like what you did with sky bringing out the blue that pleasantly contrasts with the bald, tan hills. This is what these hills should look like. It is unfortunate that they are also vulnerable to wild fires.   Posted: 07/09/2021 15:53:27

A lot going on in this simple image: you used 3 hills, the shaded side of one hills provides a geometric contrast to the hill curves, and the linear clouds in the sky added yet another contrast of shape.   Posted: 07/15/2021 18:35:48

Hi Rich, the image was well done of combination of composition: Rule of thirds and Diagonals and triangles. Additional the contrast of each hill curves created a beautiful depth of the image. Added the cloud of sky was so harmony with overall color of image. Well done. Before capture this image, I would just recommend if it is possible image could be extended further left to get starting slope of the left hill touch the 1/3 line of image. Thanks and Best regards,   Posted: 07/25/2021 22:20:48
