About the Image(s)

This is an image of an artist in Havana walking his painting to a gallery. Per capita, the country of Cuba has an unusual number of artists and musicians because the government allows artists and musicians to earn income beyond their meager monthly salary. For me, this image is humorous and unusual. It’s whimsical. I did a lot of deleting of distracting people and things in this photograph. I wanted the viewer to see the art as having its own head and two feet. Camera data: Nikon 750, 24 mm, f/5, 1/60, ISO = 200.

Hi Charles,
I'm looking at your photo and find it to be interesting not only visually but also in the context of the political and social implications. Your choice of this painting is excellent. The painting draws your attention immediately and then you can examine its surroundings and then realize the person is taking someplace for some reason. The photo gives the scene an added dimension of its own. You did a great job of deleting other things. Thank you for a very interesting and entertaining photo.   Posted: 07/04/2021 17:59:54

John, I am so glad you are entertained. Sometimes our seriousness drains the fun out of photography. I have always admired the humorous images of Elliot Erwitt:   Posted: 07/09/2021 15:36:15

I looked at the Elliott Erwitt photos and they are absolutely terrific. I must admit that his work was never brought to my attention. Thank you much for a most enjoyable journey into his work.   Posted: 07/10/2021 22:04:14

I wonder Gary that is "landscape" is any sort of scape at all. Perhaps it is a cityscape?   Posted: 07/09/2021 15:31:52

Charles, love this take on moving art. You did a masterful job of removing all the extraneous parts and leaving us with a very humorous image. If you really wanted to get outrageous you could erase the top of the body and leave just the walking feet! Nice job. Put a smile on my face.   Posted: 07/08/2021 17:53:22

Hi Charles, love this walking art, if you also remove the man's upper part, just keep his legs that would be more funny !   Posted: 07/11/2021 12:25:27

Definitely tells a story Charles and more of a news shot that I am appreciative of given my background. A very good capture and I like the cropping to the action. Nice job on cleaning it up. Have you tried to Google this art piece to find out the painter?   Posted: 07/15/2021 18:27:38

Hi Charles. Nice job and very artistical image. Post processing is very good with cleanning up and made the main subject more clear. Very creative. Best regards   Posted: 07/25/2021 22:45:14
