About the Image(s)

I was planning to take pictures of a lighthouse at night on Cape Cod. When I arrived having meticulously planned my shoot, it was covered in scaffolding!

So I went to a nearby beach and played around with lights and long exposures. You got here some Milky Way, some sand, some colored lights from a party favor, and some from a light-saber type light painting device.

Final: Four Different exposures blended in photoshop.

Very Creative, Will! Amazing how these types of digital art compositions are completed so readily via technology offered within the Digital photography revolution....an outstanding abstract that will surely count as a conversation piece.

May I suggest also joining Creative Art group, where like artistic compositions are readily reviewed.   Posted: 06/11/2021 13:48:45

Very interesting, Will! And how creative of you to not waste your trip to the lighthouse! The milky way is wonderful, and I love the blue light around the feet of the figure. I will point to your photo as a excuse for all the stuff I carry around in my car - though I do get the sense that your stuff is deliberate and mine is just junk.   Posted: 06/13/2021 20:07:57

Well, some of my lighting gear is salvaged junk. The multicolored lights are a flashing pen party favor from a barmitzvah. I also have some christmas decorations and children's toys from disneyworld. Then there are the light painting tools I bought a while back and this is their first use!   Posted: 06/13/2021 21:15:13

Then there are the real light painting tools I bought a while back and this is their first use (blue wand).   Posted: 06/13/2021 21:15:14

Kudos to you for making good use of the trip! Very creative - it's also my experience that lights/backgrounds from a toy/art store . . . are lots of fun and way cheaper than anything designed for photography!

Nice job blending these images . . . I like the blue glow of the sand below you. Like aliens landing . . .
