Welcome to our group. Your image leads me to believe that you are a very accomplished photographer and a valued addition to our group. I look forward to seeing new work from you each month.
I like this image. When I look at the original image, I feel that the composition is strong and well balanced.
Me opinion is that your choice to convert to B&W was a good choice. I enjoy the subtle tones of the B&W and feel they are more important than the muted colors of the original. I am drawn to the person in the image and feel that this is the subject that makes this an outstanding image.
There is one thing that bothers me. My assumption is that you have created a blur vignette around the top and sides of the image as a means of drawing the viewers eyes to the subject. If this was your purpose, you were very successful. However, I feel the vignette is far too large and strong on the right side of the image. I find myself wanting to look back at the original to see what is being hidden by the obvious blur. I also feel that this works against the otherwise well-balanced composition.

Thank you so much, Chan. You might be right about the right side of the image. I have expended the image to make horizontal side longer. The quality of right side of the image is not very good after the expansion. I used the fog brush to cover the deficiency.
I thought the foggy layer would give some feeling of the air movement.   Posted: 03/08/2025 13:13:30

Welcome to the group! I like this image - so many layers of depth. The person gazing in awe at the scene makes the image much more powerful! Well done. I like the simplicity/starkness of the B&W.
I'm not sure how you processed it - but the fog/blur you created is distracting to me. At first I thought it was a long exposure with the clouds moving - but the original is sharp. How did you achieve that blur effect? I would avoid having the blur spill on the grasses. As presented - it creates the impression of something not natural.
Another approach might have been to darken the periphery; still keeping it sharp.
I look forward to enjoying future images and am happy that you have joined our group!

Welcome, Chun!
I read your bio and was surprised you have been doing photography for such a short time! You have a great eye for composition and your image has a lot of impact. I like your black and white conversion and agree it's a good choice.   Posted: 03/07/2025 15:39:10

Thank you, Jennifer. It is nice to meet you here.   Posted: 03/08/2025 13:14:21
Welcome, Chun! Your image is beautiful, and I agree that the BW conversion works well. I also think that the blur should not extend to the water and below, and I think it would be more effective there were less of it. The blue in the sky, to me, does make me think there is wind movement. All in all, even from the back, you can feel the awe the person is feeling, gazing at that beautiful scene.   Posted: 03/08/2025 16:46:36
Hi Chun. This is a beautiful scene, well-captured and I agree that b&w is an excellent choice. The fog or clouds on the right look neither completely real nor completely surreal. For this reason, I would suggest that, rather than using AI to generate more data, simply crop a bit off the sky to achieve the ratio you want.   Posted: 03/24/2025 20:35:48
I like Will's crop, but I don't think it achieves Chun's more mystical vibe.   Posted: 03/25/2025 11:52:28

Will's suggestion is very good. Your original content tells the whole story. At f/9.0 you controlled the depth of field quite well.   Posted: 03/25/2025 03:37:26
