About the Image(s)

Stamens caught my eye while walking through the garden. A little boost to shadows, slight bump to Exp made them pop. Narrow depth of field shows nice perspective.

Thank you. Had not thought of it as a macro, but I guess it is.   Posted: 05/16/2022 19:26:02

Wow, Gene! That is spectacular! it looks very painterly to me and with hardly any effort. Details are extraordinary, and I especially like the natural leading lines. Great image (I'm partial to flowers). Also, congratulations on being chosen to display an image in this month's gallery! The one displayed is super.   Posted: 05/07/2022 11:56:22

I like the dreamy mood of shallow DOF flowers; very nice Gene.   Posted: 05/07/2022 17:28:50

Thanks. Sometimes DOF is our friend. Wich I could say it was totally intentional.   Posted: 05/16/2022 19:28:44

I enjoyed seeing your member showcase Bilbao shot! Kudos to you for the extra exposure.
This closeup flower is almost like a painting with its dreamy pinkish/orangish colors and tiny squiggly dark stamens. It is half soft/half sharp. So hard to get this level of detail with cell phone cameras, but seems you pulled it off OK.   Posted: 05/08/2022 21:34:02

Thank you for comments on the flower and the Showcase image. I was trying to get the stamens sharp which, I think, was only possible with the Focus Lock. Otherwise, larger background overwelled the stamens.   Posted: 05/16/2022 19:32:18

Congratulations on your Image of the Month! This is a great close up, the colors of the petals are a good B/G for the sharp stamens.

Thanks for you comments. I've tried many similar shots the phone camera but with limited success. Really nice when things work out as intended.   Posted: 05/16/2022 19:34:42

The petals frame the stamens and the dreamy effect make the flower pleasing to the eyes.
I'd prefer to see the petal near the middle part on the left more open to see more of the stamens.   Posted: 05/18/2022 17:11:49
