About the Image(s)

This was a fun surprise. I was taking photos of a little cat that lives at our local library, and when it ran I got pavement shots. I started deleting them but noticed the details in a few. This is broken pavement and worn paint marking a handicap parking spot. I liked the blues, the textures and glittery "gold" bits revealed in the pavement and the gold leaves-- a natural abstract in a way. Pretty much straight from the camera, no serious edits, but I'm undecided about turning or flipping it. Looking forward to your thoughts.

I love this, Belinda. It's an image made in-camera, and it's all about where you place the different elements, which you've certainly done to my liking. The complementary colors, and textures, are all bonuses, nicely done!   Posted: 11/04/2021 21:24:34

This is the sort of thing I often shoot--that makes people (especially my husband) wonder what in the world I'm seeing. I like yours a lot, especially under the Glitter title, because you have here gold on gold. As to rearranging it, it appears you already have done that, going from a vertical to an eye-pleasing horizontal in the close-up. I just love the randomness of the scattered leaves and cracks. Very autumny.   Posted: 11/06/2021 13:57:34

I love it when people have to really look to figure things out! The shiny bits seem to throw people off. I've been asked, "What is it, how did it get there?" several times. Thanks, it has been a fun image.   Posted: 11/14/2021 14:07:13

Very nice. Great texture / patterns, leading line, complimentary colors and the composition is perfect to my eye. Congratulation to "see" this photo begging to be taken.   Posted: 11/08/2021 19:47:37

Thank you, Gene! I might walk around staring at the ground more often Lol!   Posted: 11/14/2021 14:08:36

Beautiful! Colors, DOF and composition are spot on. Reminds me of taking a pleasant walk through the woods. This would be nice on the front of a note card...

Thank you, Ruth! I need to get back to printing some things. It might really work as a card.   Posted: 11/14/2021 14:10:35

This shot of broken pavement and worn paint is interesting! You can use it as a texture background for your future images.
The leaves in a diagonal line work well. I'd prefer to rearrange with some bigger leaves to create more impact to the subject.   Posted: 11/11/2021 13:33:17

I thought the same, Kieu-Hahn. it will come in handy for some creations, and I kept thinking it needed more leaves spilling into the negative spaces. I will experiment with some cloning. Thanks!   Posted: 11/14/2021 14:02:09
