About the Image(s)

This image was captured in Morocco in Nov 2019 using my iphone. I noted that there are a lot of cats in many tourist areas where I visited, and the tour guide said that they are wild cats. I found this lonely cat on top of the parking car under the rain. It surprised me because I think that the cat does not like to get wet.

I enhanced the color and sharpness using Snapseed and cropped it in square format.

This displays that advantage of phone cameras, that when you see something interesting, you can take a quick picture. I think cats are great subjects, and this one makes for a nice story image; one could read a variety of emotions into that gaze! The only thing that detracts is that pillar right behind him. I suppose one could clone some foliage on to it to make it less noticeable.   Posted: 09/04/2021 16:46:48

Great story! I wonder what it was watching so intensely that it did not mind the rain! I like the choice of a square format. It works. I would remove the small branch on the glass and experiment with punching up the blue in the fence. If you do try and disguise the post behind the cat, you might just remove it up to the horizontal bar. It might be too tedious to do so, but overall it's a vey cute image.   Posted: 09/05/2021 17:44:30

I like the story and the set up. I find the image to be relaxing and calm. I like the reflections on the car / windshield, the foliage and metal work in the background. I find the post a bit distracting because the color is so close to the cat. You may try brushing the column to darken exposure (On1 Local Adjustment, not sure about other software) to separate the cat. I apologize for the constant refrain …. (perhaps I am a "cropoholic"). I suggest substantial crop from top and right to focus attention on the cat and increase the visibility of the water drops on the car to set the scene. This also improves the composition by approaching the rule of thirds and still leaves plenty of space in front of the cat. Depending on crop, slight darkening in the lower right corner to reduce bright spot.   Posted: 09/08/2021 14:01:01

The cat is regal looking, sitting up so straight and focused on something. The scene is peaceful. A nice image.
