About the Image(s)

This is a composite of 2 images using 3 in-phone apps. I've used the moon background in the past. You might remember it.

First, I used an image of blue-green leather for its texture. I keep a file of textures for artsy stuff. In Snapseed, I converted it to B/W, then used a round frame from PhotoEditor (not included because it meant uploading 4 images). I added a pale rainbow overlay from Pixlr to alter the color/lighting, and finally moved the frame around to cut the right side of the moon (it seemed the right thing to do for some odd reason).

The rain photo was taken from our car window through glass while crossing a bridge in DC.

Putting it together: With Snapseed's double exposure tool, I placed the rain photo over my created moon, reduced the opacity and moved it around. I removed a water drop from the umbrella with the healing tool.

Samsung Galaxy s9, auto
rain, f/2.4, 1/120, ISO 200
leather, f/2.4, 1/89, ISO 50

Moon: Snapseed, Photo Editor, Pixlr

Rain: Snapseed-- cropped, healing tool to remove drop, increased saturation with saturation tool

Final: Snapseed details tool for saturation, sharpness

I really like the graduated texture in the moon. The most fascinating part of this mono image is the coloured man in the moon! Well done!   Posted: 05/05/2021 17:42:02
