About the Image(s)
Shot in Kawasaki ,Japan adjacent to a nature walk across from Haneda Airport.Amongst the glowing water and grasses,I noted these hidden figures that were apparently fishing off the banks of the Tamagawa River.I liked the simplicity of this image with a few strong shapes and at the same time I liked the complexity of the reeds, reflections and current patterns.I thought the image could handle the bright reflections of the sun.I wasn't quite sure how to tone it down with Snapseed. Thanks

Wayne, I love the intensity of the light. It absolutely glows.
I just wish the people weren't hidden the way they are. It's a bit distracting. I wish they were totally hidden... or were in a sharper silhouette. But I wouldn't crop the photo because you need the bright side and the darker side.
Nice capture.   Posted: 10/07/2024 20:42:47

Love that warm golden light. Good that you didn't blow out the highlights; that happens so often with the sun reflecting off water. Agree with Susan that the people are too small to have much impact. At first I thought they were birds! Clearly nothing that you could have controlled.   Posted: 10/08/2024 04:35:51

Wayne, It's an unusual image. The intensity of the light and color reflecting off the water is strong.   Posted: 10/14/2024 15:44:01

I've been to Haneda many times, but never outside the airport. I like the wedge the grasses form here, and the gold light. I agree with the others about the people; I thought they were birds too! Nice image.   Posted: 10/14/2024 15:58:31

Hi Wayne,
The golden color of the rising sun is beautiful. The water reflection and the grass in the foreground add more impact to the scene. I'd prefer to remove the two people because they are not quite visible and could be distracting.
You can tone down the bright reflections in Snapseed using the Brush tool. Select Dodge & Burn brush with minus value to darken certain areas, or plus value to brighten it. You can also tap up or down arrows to adjust the tool's value.
Overall, it's a beautiful scene!   Posted: 10/21/2024 21:54:40
