Blue Bird by Lena Sha

January 2022 - Blue Bird

About the Image(s)

The image that i would like to submit is my very recent composite from my 5 images that i captured in different places and times. The ballet dancer was shot in a studio, but the lighting setup was collaborative work, so i cannot take a full credit for the lighting unfortunately. The fabric wings were constructed from other shots with the same model. Camera Sony7iii with kit lens 28-50mm. The background (two separated images combined) was shot with sonya7III with vintage lens Helios 44-2 with reversed fist element, that why it created a fancy bokeh effect. The concept idea came from one of fairytales memories from my childhood. And that why the title is "Blue Bird..".

Wow! This is amazing! Composites are something I have never attempted or know how to do. But your beautiful photo makes me want to learn more. Your title is perfect too.   Posted: 01/12/2022 05:01:50

Kathleen, thank you for your nice comment! I really encourage you to learn it. Sometimes, we need to realize our imagination versus a capture of reality.   Posted: 01/13/2022 21:02:26

I agree, amazing. Would you be willing to share some of the "how I did it"?   Posted: 01/16/2022 18:39:20

Andrew, thank you for your comment. I've already briefly described the image making background in the "About the image" you can read it on the top. I used Photoshop for compositing. Do you have any specific question? I'm happy to share.   Posted: 01/16/2022 18:55:43
