Playing the Ukulele by Angela Bonner, QPSA

May 2022 - Playing the Ukulele

About the Image(s)

This is my daughter playing her Ukulele. I tried to get her chord hand sharp but movement in the other hand to add interest.
Taken on my Canon R6, 24-70mm lens at f8. I cannot remember what shutter speed I used. I cropped in for a letterbox shape. I lightened the shadows a little in LR and using Topaz AI DeNoise to remove what was a lot of noise having used a high ISO to get exposure right.

You succeeded in your effort to show the moment in the playing hand, Had loved to see the face, I also wondered why the right side is so dark.   Posted: 05/01/2022 12:02:05

I kept it dark so the eye is drawn to her hand   Posted: 05/01/2022 12:15:28

I like the movement in her hand that you captured…I can just imagine she was playing a lively tune! That's a beautiful wooden instrument and I'm glad it's sharp so we can see all those details!   Posted: 05/01/2022 20:28:01

Small instrument gets a small picture to view. A little tight and would like more below, maybe some on top too. Like the hand movement. You picked a good hand motion. Seems to be more of a snapshot and I long to see the player's face. Upper left corner distracting. Maybe some rings on the hand without jewelry..........? Maybe process to get more pop, some brightness and clarity maybe. Interesting but not getting me to stay with the pic.   Posted: 05/01/2022 21:45:37

I doubt my daughter would have let me include her face but take your point and also about the top left corner!!! She doesn't wear much jewellery same as me!!   Posted: 05/02/2022 10:33:34
