About the Image(s)

Just been driving around the state snapping shots of lighthouses! Wishing for dramatic skies (even the sunsets seem gray).

Small, but one of my favorite spots to visit. No one was around so able to get a full shot with no distractions.

Almost straight out of the camera. Slight contrast work in ACR and a levels adjustment layer to help with the lighthouse itself.

I like the composition and whole image lovely and sharp.
Real shame the sky is so bland. I tried to see if there was any more detail to come out but there wasn't. Could perhaps try in LR to select sky and replace with another?
Great shot and looks a lovely place to visit.   Posted: 01/07/2022 11:27:42

Brent, I really like the leading ling of the walk up to the lighthouse, and I like the composition. I get mystery of the walk covered with the sand, and I like that. As to the sky, I bet you can draw out some good detail, and Lightroom has a great way to do that with the HSL slider, by using the little tool and dragging it downward in the Luminance category.   Posted: 01/12/2022 16:33:06

Great shot of this lighthouse, Brent! I like seeing the sand dunes on the right. I'm glad there were no people…it makes this spot look desolate and lonely, which I think adds to the shot!   Posted: 01/12/2022 17:07:45
