About the Image(s)

This is a picture of one of my sister’s chickens. I really liked all the different textures and colors of the comb and feathers. I especially liked the catchlight in his eye as it reflects her barn.
I didn’t do much to this photo. I toned down the background a bit and blurred it a little more. This was taken with my Leica v-lux. I don’t have access to the metadata as I’m away on vacation and only have my iPad.

Definitely looking like a Dinosaur!!! Cannot really be called pretty!!
Lovely and sharp and shows up all the textures in her feathers and face details. Not easy to get a sharp image as they are usually on the move all the time, so well done.
I think I might have blurred the BG even more and toned it down slightly as it seems to be competing with the subject especially at the top right of the image.   Posted: 11/01/2021 11:45:40

Janet, I see you are having fun. Good choice to brighten your chicken and darken the background. I would do it even more, tone down the green and increase the red and make it more dramatic. The eye, most important, is in focus. I would want the rest of the head sharp, and parts are soft, in the white and upper red areas. Might try a larger depth of field if you agree.   Posted: 11/02/2021 19:42:05

Janet I like what you have done with this image. My eye is enjoying the toned down and soft background as well as the sharply focused eye with the nice catchlight.   Posted: 11/04/2021 20:15:49
