About the Image(s)

1/160; f/2.8; ISO 100; 50mm prime Shot in studio; large window light 90 degrees camera right, bouncing off a large white V flat 90 degrees camera left, with a bit of strobe modified by a large umbrella about 35degrees camera left.

I knew when I made the image, I would change the background as the colors of the flowers didn't match the scarf. I imported into lightroom and opened up the shadows, made adjustments to clarity; imported into Photoshop - changed the background, made various edits to brighten the image and enhance the skin and eyes, as well as soften the wrinkles in the scarf.

Another great portrait!!! The title really tells all. Very good eye contact and I like the crop you have done. Very subtle lighting.
The one ear ring bugs me a bit and wonder if would be better cloned out?
Well done.

Cheryl, you did wonderful, especially with they eyes. I like the framing. It looks like you had some interesting shadows in the original, adding depth. Maybe see if you bring some back very subtly.   Posted: 10/09/2021 14:41:02

Great portrait, Cheryl! I like the background much better than the original. I think your subtle adjustments really work for this photo. Your subject must be thrilled with this portrait!   Posted: 10/12/2021 11:06:30

Excellent portrait. I like both with and without the background. Left eye has WAY more detail than the right, maybe make them a bit more similar?? Just stands out to me. But excellent portrait.   Posted: 10/12/2021 12:38:25
