A beautiful rose in an interesting vase. Glad that you cropped the top off as this has brought the viewers attention more to the rose. I like the way you have placed the three lower leaves in a triangle which brings the flower to an "end". It is lovely and sharp throughout and the lighting is great.
The only niggle I have is whether the vase is a bit "clumpy" for the composition as I find the image rather bottom heavy?
Well done!!   Posted: 06/01/2021 09:48:53

I like the way you cropped this and I especially like how you added warmth to the photo which brought out more detail. Beautiful rose in an interesting vase.   Posted: 06/03/2021 10:44:03

I like pretty much everything about this image. Well done. I feel I want the whole vase. But regardless, nicely done.   Posted: 06/07/2021 21:04:47

Cheryl, I love the way you brought out the flower pedals and color. I think you can even add more texture and bring it out even more. If it were my shot I would crop up from the bottom as my eye goes back and forth from the flower to the base of the vase that shows in the picture. By cropping up my eye then stays with the flower, supported by the vase. I would crop off the part of the vase that is much less curved, and up a little from there. I would also bring down the highlights on the shinny reflection on the vase itself. The greenery is in a nice position of support, and adds to the shot.   Posted: 06/08/2021 12:51:42

Thanks everyone, the vase has a special place in my work; my godchild is a ceramic artist; she crafted this one of a set of 3 vases and mixed the glaze for it. I like to place yellow and orange flowers in that vase.

Lovely image. Good transition from the original to the current. I liked the subtle highlight on the vase. Nice one Cheryl   Posted: 06/20/2021 22:31:37

Fantastic colours, good crop and composition, maybe would change the direction of the main light, to get a bit of shades/depth   Posted: 06/27/2021 02:34:51
