About the Image(s)

Canon 5DM3, 200mm, ISO 200, f/14, 1/15sec, tripod.

Taken on a photography workshop in Bavaria, Germany. I cropped it some, but am thinking I could have cropped it more to eliminate some the foreground. The main edit was obviously to convert to black and white, something I don't do very often, plus I adjusted the highlights and shadows and used to the haze adjustment to bring out more details in the mountains and reduce the blown-out whites on that center peak.

Great shot and changing it to black and white was the right choice. You have managed to bring out a lot of detail in the sky and texture in the mountains. You did well with the crop but I agrre I think you could have taken just a little more off the base to exclude the tops of the trees just showing in the center.
Well done.   Posted: 10/07/2024 12:01:09

Great job of turning it to black and white and eliminating the bright spot at the top of the mountain. The clouds show better in the monotone one. You could also have cropped less as the original with more of the trees displayed shows a foreground.   Posted: 10/07/2024 20:58:01

Really good shot of the mountains, and I like all of the edits that you completed. I think the trees on the right give some perspective to the mountain peaks in the background and eliminating the peaks in the background on both the left and right was a good idea. But I liked where you cropped it on the bottom, so maybe you can retouch/eliminate the trees on the left and keep the rugged base of the peaks. Good photo.   Posted: 10/08/2024 00:44:30

Beautiful shot of the mountains! I definitely like the black and white better, it reminds me of Ansel Adams. I love all the details in the mountains. I would keep the trees…I think it needs a foreground ! Well done!   Posted: 10/16/2024 00:25:25
