I love the ruffles of Ranunculus petals, and I wanted to play with effects for a creative end product on the iPad. The image was not the sharpest it could be and there was noise. So working with that in mind I did edits in Lightroom mobile, then using various apps I masked and replaced the background with various texturss, overlays and effects to create this look, final painterly touches were done in an app called Procreate. I like the cruciform effect of the dripping colour from the petals. A bit of fun for spring.

This is a lovely image. I like how it reminds me of a sun in the sky. I think that the drip effect is an interesting take and overall this works well as an art piece. The original image is also a nice image and has great detail.   Posted: 05/15/2023 14:23:24

Kathryn, I like your creative editing. The background to the flower was distracting and your editing did very well to remove the distractions. Yes, the dripping colour was the right choice.   Posted: 05/15/2023 21:26:22

Absolutely stunning. The dripping colors and textures make this a work of art. I will check out Procreate for sure. Fabulous.   Posted: 05/18/2023 11:05:45

Rich thank you so very much😀. Procreate uses non-destructive layers, you can mask, and use blend modes and a lot of tools you would be familiar with from Photoshop. Just much easier to paint in Procreate, particularly if you have the Apple Pencil. Have fun experimenting.   Posted: 05/18/2023 11:23:40

Hi Kathryn, having read your description demonstrated to me at least that you have used your creativity with an image that I would have probably deleted and created a piece of artwork. Well done.   Posted: 05/20/2023 06:11:30

Nadia thanks. I will be deleting it as well, because the original is definitely a sub par image. Sometimes though I find when I play like this with an image that is not the sharpest or best, it allows me to be more free with trying out different stuff, and see what is possible with the tools I have. Hi Kathryn,
Greetings my friend.
Thank you for sharing this image with us.
A creative conversion probably would need a bit more progressive focused and specific ways to convert as artwork. The conversion made the image too noisy..
I on the other hand played the image with a monochrome treatment.
What do you think?
Apologies for delay comment.
Kindest regards.
Kamal.   Posted: 05/30/2023 06:11:30
