About the Image(s)

I’m taking Kathleen Clemons Sequel class now. She suggested in a very busy image to pull down the clerity and dehaze sliders in Lightroom. The original is the second image. Shot with Canon 5D Mark III, Sigma 50mm with Canon 500 D, 0.5 sec. at f/ 11, stacked in Helicon from 50 images by turning the lens.

The flower is lovely. The black background really draws out the color in the flower. It really enhances the purples in the petals and really brings out the detail. I think there is nothing to edit or change.   Posted: 05/15/2023 14:18:43

Doug this is lovely. I am familiar with Kathleen's work and am doing an online workshop where she was one of the presenters, so am familiar with her and love her work as well.
The shape of the petals and the suggested movement and motion is wonderful. You have handled the light, tones and colours beautifully. The diagonal of the stem helps balance the composition as well. Just a well done image. Nothing more to add.   Posted: 05/16/2023 08:43:25

Doug, I'm such a fan of stacking images like this. You captured the flower perfectly and the composition and colors are right on. My only suggestion is to darken the bottom petal as its brightness draws the eye from the center. Really well done.   Posted: 05/18/2023 10:48:26

Doug, yes, a beautiful job of capturing all of this detail. Like Rich, you should bring down the highlights of that lower left white pedal.   Posted: 05/18/2023 11:09:36

Hi Doug, what a lovely flower. The detail is superb and I really like how how the light falls on the flower creating some light and shadow. Beautifully done.   Posted: 05/20/2023 05:50:21

Hi Doug,
Greetings my friend.
An amazing capture and post processing. The light and color complementing each other and the framing is also done very professionally. Nothing more to add though. Thank you for sharing.
Cheers.
