About the Image(s)

This "Lotus 119" was captured in this current winter in our country. This image was shot from the farm house called ASTRAS in Pabna area of Bangladesh; I visited the farm in February of 2025. The ASTRAS remain filled with many gardens of seasonal flowers.

I used my Samsung S 23 Ultra mobile's camera for the images (It was an early morning and I shot hand held & without gimbal). with no flash compulsory, I captured the image. I used Photoshop CS6 for editing and post processing (to crop, discard & use paint filter) to create this, out of the original image before submission.

I hope you will enjoy the image and kindly give me your feedback on it.

Kamal, this is another beautiful image from the ASTRAS. I Love the green and pink combinations and the image is well exposed and sharp. Your painted texture adds to the image. The fly in the foreground adds to the image. The spot "bug?" at the 3 o'clock location should of been erased, cloned out, or removed as it adds nothing to the image, in my mind.   Posted: 03/09/2025 12:58:09

Greetings my friend.
Thank you for your kind words and feedback.
I agree with you about the bug at 3 o clock and will erase that in next post processing. Thanks again.

Very nice. All Bob's comments are the same that I would make-especially removing the spot on the right side. To me, it detracts from the fly in the foreground. Keep up the good work.   Posted: 03/10/2025 10:56:34

Kamal what a great blossom! The colors are beautiful and the bugs just add to it. Although I do like that you gave the flower a new background, sometimes the background you have will do quite nicely. Here's an edit I made to your original just to give you an idea that blurring the background can be effective. Nice job!   Posted: 03/11/2025 13:29:55

Hi Rich,
Greetings my friend.
Thank you for your kind words and feedback.
I learnt a new think about blurring the background to make the subject stands out, in the frame. Thank you for your effective tips about this.
Kindest regards.

Nice image. I think both flies should be cloned out. The original image with background blurred is also nice. I'm not sure the image with the replaced background is totally successful; it looks a bit pasted on. At any event, I think including the stem would help. You did not have that problem last month since the rose participated in the background.

About last month: I tried to make a comment at 7:00 on the 28th, & couldn't, even though I made comments on others earlier tht day. So, I will give comments about the rose now: Beautiful image. I think the rectangular shape of the bottom petal is not attractive. With Gerative Fill, it was easy to crop out. What do you think?

Hi Doug,
Greetings my friend.

Your suggestions of removing both bugs are well appreciated. I will consider them in my next edit. Replacing the entire background is my choice, and it was done; to avoid a very busy background to bring the flower in total spotlight.

About the rose of last edition, actually (the rectingular shape petal) it was on the image naturaly, so I have nothing left to do for this, I belive. I went with my instinct and hoped everyoner would love it.

Thanks again.

This is another lovely image, your interpretation in presenting the flower works well and the colour combination is also nice. For me the fly acts as a leader into the center of the flower and I do agree with the others about the smaller insect, it could be removed. Well done.   Posted: 03/18/2025 04:30:31

Hi Kamal. This is a beautiful flower and you have presented it well! I agree about removing the spot/blurry bug on the right, but I think the in-focus fly is helpful to the composition and presentation. Due to the angle of the flower, I do think that leaving in the stem would be beneficial to the composition. Your focus is perfect and I love the sharpness of the center of the flower especially.   Posted: 03/19/2025 01:44:15
