About the Image(s)

Astronaut with Alien Lifeform resulted from trying to make more detailed images of the moon. The moon was shot with a Nikon Z 800mm, f/6.3 lens and I wanted to make an image utilizing it. The astronaut is an old space suit used as an attention getter for a self-storage company in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. I added a face in the space suit from a model shoot. I composited the 'alien' from 8 different photos of soap bubbles lighted by an overhead softbox. These 11 images were finally composited via layers and masks in Photoshop Elements.

That Alien sure looks humanoid, yet its apparent atmosphere-less existence counters that hypothesis. OR is the Astronaut standing on a planet with an atmosphere quite suitable for the Alien, but toxic for the Astronaut? Or are we looking at an Alien spacesuit/helmet designed to mimic the human form? How did you create the alien "body". I thought at first that you distorted the head multiple times, but I am not sure. OR does the Alien lack a body and is munching on a freeze-dried health bar? Great job adding the face within the helmet. The repeating globe shape presents an interesting take on the rule of thirds that contributes to the excellent composition. The wealth of thought-provoking elements reflect its creativity.   Posted: 10/20/2024 20:02:18

Goodness! A lot of creativity and time went into the alien. It is cute and certainly original. I thought at first it was sticking its tongue out, but maybe that alien group doesn't eat. I like your moon.   Posted: 10/23/2024 23:15:00
