About the Image(s)
Image captured at Cutler Park outside of Boston recently - R5, RF100-500, f/7.1, 1/125.
Was out looking for tree swallows, but snapped this quick shot of the RWB along the way
Liked his pose with the juxtaposition of the two branches
Basic adjustments in LR, then through Topaz for Denoise and Sharpening…

Seems like birds were a popular subject this month! I like these little "Photo Synchronicity" moments which I see in my photography community site where on a given day a theme emerges of similar postings.
You were out looking for swallows while Helen was chasing leopards!
This redwing blackbird looks good filling the frame although cropping in like this brings more attention that the focus is not quite on the eye. I do like the minimalist view with just the bird and branches, and the "crossroads" of them coming together.

Mitch, I am constantly chasing red wing blackbirds and they are so hard to catch! So often in the brush. Wow, shocked you shot at 1/125 with a big lens...with birds, they recommend shooting around 1/1500 sec, even if on a tripod. But he turned out great!
I agree with Jason, the diagonals are fab. And I like the simplicity.   Posted: 08/02/2022 20:34:31

Hi Mitch, great capture and agree with Jason that the crop is well selected. For me the vertical branch is an intrusion, especially as its out of focus and everything else has been totally dissolved.
