About the Image(s)
It is a Hibiscus flower in a water container placed near a water pool. The weather was fair. A Nikon D750 fitted with a 28-300mm lens was used hand-held. 1/200s; f/20; 250mm.
I like the contrast between the color of the flower and the blue color of the pool.

Hi Gaetan: The turquoise background for the red hibiscus does make for an interesting color combination. From a composition standpoint I would not have cut off the bottom of the glass container.
The grout seams in the turquoise tiles really do not add any esthetic value to the over all image.

I agree with Murphy and would crop out the bottom of the glass so just the bottom of the bloom provides the base of the image. The highlights on the table are also not contributing to the image. The color combo is stunning, well done.   Posted: 09/06/2023 13:37:12
Gaetan, I would have either liked more of the glass bottom or less. I might have liked more showing with the reflection being part of the composition. I agree that making the grout lines less visible might be useful. But given those, I like the attempt and the color combination especially since it is not something I would have thought of. Great you have joined us. Ray   Posted: 09/06/2023 21:01:07

The flower is lovely nice and sharp Creative idea for background
The scum ring on the glass detracts I would try to remove it by editing but probably easier to clean glass before shooting I too think bottom of container should be in I also would clone out lines on bottom of pool
If you reshoot you might try putting glass on stack of books or held by clamp so pool water is entirely behind the glass and flower and then clone out clamp   Posted: 09/09/2023 21:16:50

I would add to the comment, that I would have tried to be parallel with the border of the pool.
Indeed the contrast of color are nice.
To avoid the grout lines, you just had to open (Lower f) the aperture. Fi: f/8 (even less) iso f/20.   Posted: 09/17/2023 14:29:31
