About the Image(s)

I captured this image during a recent trip to Cape Cod. The sun was setting when I shot it with my tripod mounted, Nikon D750 with Nikkor 24-120mm lens set at 120mm. The image was shot at ISO 100, f/7.1, at 1/3 second. The water was smooth as glass and I really liked the reflections of the boat and the sky.

Post processing was done in Lightroom with the following adjustments: cropping; tint-9; Contrast+8; Highlights-82; Shadows+43; Whites+64; Blacks-7; Clarity-38; Dehaze+15; Vibrance+4; Saturation+9; Post-crop Vignette-16.

I am glad you increased the red color ,the contrast is pleasing to the eye and the reflection is great.the sky by contrast is bland ..its reflection orange ..was it sunset? ,it would also look great without the bridge   Posted: 07/09/2021 17:43:45

Thanks for your feedback. Yes as noted in the description the sun was setting when I took this shot. I agree that the sky is pretty bland and I played around with it some, but did not like the results, so decided to leave it as it was. I did not consider cropping out the bridge, but after seeing the crop Stuart did below, I think you are right.   Posted: 07/11/2021 13:22:16

I liked your crop on the right side. I feel you should crop some off some from the left side. What I did first was to remove the bridge from the landscape. I put your image through Topaz De-noise Ai and Topaz Sharpen Ai. I then cropped some off the left side and this is what I came up with. You captured a nice image,   Posted: 07/10/2021 14:52:50

Thanks for your comments and edit. As noted in my response to Nicole, I did not give consideration to cropping out the bridge, but after seeing your crop, I do think it improves the image. I have never used the Topaz tool.   Posted: 07/11/2021 13:27:32

Postcard perfect. Love the red. Great reflection. Both crops work, but I like the bridge because it adds some context.   Posted: 07/19/2021 17:29:08

Thanks Frank. I included the bridge originally because I thought it added context and depth, but I also liked the suggested crop.   Posted: 07/19/2021 17:47:40

Very pretty scene. I tend to agree with Stuart's crop and version without the bridge, which although it adds context it takes away the simpleness of this image. I feel the colour palette and plain boat and it beautiful reflection make the image   Posted: 07/23/2021 20:42:17
