This was taken down the stree from where I lived, it was starting to get dark but I gave it a shot anyway. From a fairly extensive halloween display, taken with my a6000 and a 24mm prime lens at f2 and 1/10sec, 200 ISO This was taken hand held. Process in Lightroom and the BW was done in Silver Efex then sharpened in topaz

Ed - For me this is classic spooky. The only thing I would add is another cloned and turned version of the hand on the right into a place on the ghoul's left arm - so it really looks like he is going to attack with both hands. Posted: 11/06/2023 21:13:00

I was wondering If you could anyhow make the mantle outstanding.
In the color version, since the back ground is red, the mantle is outstanding. In BW, the mantle is a bit migrated in the background.
Other than that, great!

Nice black=and-white conversion! The skulls, spiders, and spider webs really "pop" in the mono version. I would be tempted to crop off the entire bottom half of the image so that the focus is on the skull, the hand, and the spiders. Might even reverse it? Something like this …. Hi Ed, I love the mono and would agree with the comments that are already made. I love the new crop and miss the second hand but the conversion to mono is superb and adds a whole new spookiness.
