About the Image(s)

The image was taken hand held on a Nikon d750 with a Tamron 150-600 lens at 550mm. Iso 3200 f7.1 @ 1/4000 second. I put the image through Topaz Denoise as a raw, straightened the horizon, cropped, and converted to Mono in lightroom and increased the texture, sharpened with edge masking and adjusted the highlights and black to improve the overall contrast. I had been out to photograph wildlife and there was a guy on a jetski beside the river I was at. It was very much a grab shot but when processing I tried to improve the composition and draw attention to the jet skier.

You've captured a great sense of motion in the image, and the expression on the person's face is great. I like the way the waves look in B&W- the B&W really emphasizes the s in the wave and the white spray.   Posted: 05/03/2022 18:54:57

Hey Tevor, Nice Contrast, good action, and nice facial expression. These can be hard to capture, but it looks like you got it right on. Makes me want to try jet ski's again. Thanks. Definitely Better in B&W.   Posted: 05/03/2022 20:40:12

Nice work on what you did. Monochrome emphasizes the intensity of the action. To draw attention further to the skier, one might crop in closer, and brighten some of the midtones of the subject. I also vignetted the non-subject.   Posted: 05/04/2022 16:33:13

Fantastic, Tevor!
Composition is good, stopping water movement is great, and the subject body is pin sharp.
Also nice lighting!
Excellent job!

Very well done, being a photograph that was not planned. You can feel the speed and the sound of jetski. I like the triangle of the wave behind and how it creates a leading line up to the driver.

I think Dick´s cropping works better as it keeps more focus on the main subject.   Posted: 05/17/2022 01:32:32
