About the Image(s)

My wife and I went to Antalya last month for a short vacation. I’ve seen him on Kaleiçi (Old City) streets. He’s not a homeless man; but picking up bottles and cans. I asked him if I could take his photo and tipped in advance.

I used PS to edit, crop and convert to grayscale.

Hi Ata,
Thank you for sharing.
I like your images of people. It has a unique mood.
The details are well captured, wrinkles of the face, texture of clothing, etc.
The dark tones of jacket works well here. It naturally guide my eye to the face.
I do not have any suggestions to improve this. This works well standalone in my view.

This is a great character shot, and very sharp. I like the choice of background.
You always make a social comment. This man is a street picker, keeping alive gathering other people's trash. What will he do when he is not physically capable to continue that work?
My wife's cousin has a flat in Antalya, and his life is much different from this man's.   Posted: 05/03/2021 22:51:00

Your question has no rational answer; cuz, life is not equal for everyone. I got a taxi before lockdown and driver was a commercial airline pilot. God Bless the World. Thanks Stephen.   Posted: 05/07/2021 03:46:18

Street photography takes a lot of social abilities from the photographer. I think it is a good idea to ask to take pictures like this instead of just shooting. You have managed to portrait the personality of the person very well. If I should mention anything, it would be to make some more contrast in the beard so the face stands more out from the background.   Posted: 05/08/2021 02:22:01
