WOW! Ths original had a lot if impact with the primary colors. But the artist almost seemed like an intrusion into the color. I really like the mono better. He is now the star, and is totally highlighted by his whiteness among all the detail in the equipment. His pose, facial expression and, especially, the hand pose really shows he is "into" his music. And I like the totally different pacific expression on the fiddler. Needless to say the light and focus throughout is spot on. Although he is off-center, there is balance created between the fiddler and the profusion of equipment on the right. I might have tried to tone down the white writing on the wall to see what that does. It sticks out a little too much for my taste.   Posted: 10/01/2024 03:32:33

Great capture, Mark! I much prefer the B&W. The shot has so much energy, and I love the sort of chaotic equipment backdrop. Given that your intent was to showcase the front man's passion, which you do very well, I would think about a square crop that eliminates the fiddler. The fiddler looks almost like he's in a different scene. He's not playing the fiddle, he's expressionless, and he's looking away from the main performer. For me, that detracts from the image's main focus which is pure energy. Well done!   Posted: 10/01/2024 19:04:05

Showcasing the front man (drummer) does well, it is sharp and very clear, the BW is much better than the colour. I agree with Stacy on perhaps cropping square to eliminate the fiddler for the same reason as hers.   Posted: 10/08/2024 21:08:52

Hi Mark,
Thank you for sharing.
It is a great shot filled with passion. I like the comparison of two players, especially the expression. I much prefer the BW. It is a great conversion. Well done.

Hey Mark, Wonderful capture of "that moment"! It is fortunate that you were able to photograph such an occurrence given restrictions on photographing music events. Definitely the B&W as has been pointed out already.   Posted: 10/23/2024 12:00:42
