Lima Peru by Tom Barbernitz

June 2022 - Lima Peru

About the Image(s)

I was traveling through Peru during May and came across this lovely valley in the Andes Mountains near Lima. The blue skies, low clouds, mountain peaks and tidy farmer fields made it look like a postcard to me. Taken with a Canon G3x Camera F8 40mm

Postcard indeed. Beautiful frame. Lines nicely flow to the valley in the background. Nice clouds and skies. Was this under morning or evening golden sun ? or was the saturation a bit higher?   Posted: 06/13/2022 20:59:04

Thanks for the comments - this was taken under late afternoon skies. Used the clarity slider just a little to make the blue in the skies pop out - but didn't adjust the saturation at all on this one. Just a beautiful spot!

Tom, I love this image...it is a perfect spot for photography. The magnitude is what draws me in and makes me want to look at all the details. The leading lines in this are numerous and bring me back to that incredible sky and mountains. I don't know anything about that particular camera, but surprised that you got that much detail at f/8.0. Beautiful shot!!!

I've not traveled to South America .....yet....only got as far as Costa Rico . It reminds me a great deal of some of the incredible vistas in Iceland, but not as civilized (ie not big population) and certainly not farms like this!   Posted: 06/17/2022 20:49:40

A great image Tom. Wonderful sharpness right through, from the near village to the distant mountains, and from left to right. No weak points to be seen anywhere. The colours and clarity in the mountains bring great detail and those clouds just go along for the ride. Great time of day and use of directional light. Definitely one to be hung on your wall. Congratulations.   Posted: 06/23/2022 05:42:10
