Heading into Camp by Sherry Icardi

October 2021 - Heading into Camp

About the Image(s)

We were heading into camp after a productive day of shooting animals (with a camera of course) and the beauty of the landscape made me want to capture the sky we saw that night. So I asked the Guide to stop so that I could get our other jeep in the shot and used the road as a leading line. I don't think I have ever appreciated the beauty of the sky until I saw it without the pollution we get here in the states. This was taken in the Maasai Mara during my last trip to Africa.

Taken at 24mm with my D850 and 24-120 mm lens.
ISO 320

Post Pricessing was mainly bringing up the shadows and reducing the noise.

I love the muted pastel colors. Very seren and peaceful. The road and the vehicle make me wonder what is around the bend. The light, swirling clouds add some interest as well as the muted sunset colors on the horizen. Nice photo.   Posted: 10/10/2021 18:02:35

A great image Sherry, and I'm sure a great memory for you. Your construction of this image and use of the elements is first rate, congratulations. The greens, browns and blues are excellent and yes that sky is just right, not too much cloud and not too little. Great depth as well.   Posted: 10/18/2021 06:08:44
