Tea Plantation by Janos Demeter, EPSA

July 2021 - Tea Plantation

About the Image(s)

Well, this is my photo for July – be it a landscape or not 😊 Infact it is, yet not in the classic way. It is a drone photo taken from a 29 m above the land. It looks very geometric, and for that reason I found it interesting. It is the only tea plantation in Europe, on Sao Miguel island.

Ah, tea. An interesting image. I like the movement from lower left to upper right. Soothing, Calming. Well done.   Posted: 07/11/2021 10:23:20

What a kick in the pants - great shot! The diagonal pattern is cool and very creative. I am not ready to invest in a drone as yet but they do give a different perspective.   Posted: 07/11/2021 12:31:46

Unique perspective and very different!

Drones are for me just annoying when Im shooting, given that I usually just do wildlife and they are actually banned in most of the areas I shoot because of the danger to wildlife. Our guide in Iceland was a big drone user and does some incredible stuff with it, but it is a different skillset, one that I do not possess. So nicely done!   Posted: 07/11/2021 13:05:09

A very strong image Janos and a great angle that drones can get. It's great as it is but I'm curious as to how many people have told you it need a tea picker in a red hat on the bottom left thirds point?   Posted: 07/12/2021 03:35:03

Ian, I fully agree with you. I wish it were red hat picker, or a pink flamingo or at least a nude there. But unfortunately I had to live with none of those :)   Posted: 07/12/2021 23:31:59

Janos, Excellent shot. Love the textures and lines. Great color too. Your drone takes us where none of us can see.
Wishful thinking on my side.   Posted: 07/28/2021 07:07:56

Very interesting take on a minimalistic image. How great it would have been if someone was working the plantation when you took this image. (Now I sound like some of the judges in club competitions who say they wish the person was wearing a red shirt .)   Posted: 07/30/2021 09:56:57
