About the Image(s)
This was taken just a few weeks ago. One of those that was a little hard to catch because of the shadows and sunlight. The springs are located inside area that has been carved out by the water, but the sunlight catches the water running away because of the trees have not leafed out. I decided to try several ways, but it seemed to work the best under exposing it and post processing it to bring it out of the shadows. Its a beautful spot and easy to hike to. Shot with Nikon D7000, ISO 100,1/100 sec. f/5.6 18mm.
Just wanted to say thank you to all those who comment on my images. I am still trying to learn how to write my comments for your images. You all seem to write exactly what I want to say, but I dont want to keep repeating what everyone else says. Im learning from all of you. Thank you.

what I would try in a different way, is the crop. Your photo is squareish, while I prefer a landscape ratio. But this might be only my view.

I like the shot - the light is well controlled. I might have opened up the shadows a bit to have a deeper look in the cave where the water is coming out of.
The water - kind of interesting - when I take water shots I tend to go towards the dreamy silky water shots - now my wife, shall we say is not crazy about those kinds of shots - she says they look fake. So it is your call, but next tome our out and there is no direct sunlight on the water try taking a longer exposure of the water just to have the idea of how it is done -
Critiquing - Don't beat yourself up on this. It takes time and practice and not that I have got it down myself. I first look to see the entire photo, then start looking to see if it is sharp, then look for composition and exposure. Then go back to look at the story - artistic and point out some of the good points and limit any suggestions to one.
Hope that helps.   Posted: 05/26/2021 12:01:24
