About the Image(s)
I’m not a fan of animals forced to live in captivity but this black bear had a surprisingly large habitat allowing the bear plenty of room to roam. When I visited, this bear was having a nice relaxing day watching us watch him.
Post processing was done in Lightroom. The image was cropped, highlights and shadow adjustments were made along with the radial and linear adjustments. The eyes were also brightened and the image was sharpened.

Barbara, yes; the bear seems very concentrated about his stick. I like the crop you are presenting. The image is sharp. The background is slightly blurred and non distracting. As you say, the bear is posing for you.   Posted: 05/09/2023 08:03:14
Thanks Isaac.

G=Hey Barbara, Your bear provided you with a really cute pose, and was nice enough to look right at you as you took the photo. It is really sharp, nice composition and blurred background . Your exposure is spot on, I have always found it difficult to photograph black bears, because even though they are black, the fur is really reflective. Bruce   Posted: 05/11/2023 11:25:39

Hi Barbara, You have captured in a beautiful way this fellow that is relaxing enjoying its day. I like the crop of your image it really make the bear stand up as a center of attention. You did a great job in edition recovering all the detail of its fur Well done.   Posted: 05/12/2023 07:03:30
Thank you Maria.   Posted: 05/20/2023 09:35:41
Barbara, This is a very effective composition. The triangles formed by capturing the bear on a diagonal help lead the eyes of the viewer from one corner of the frame to the other. I can't help but imagine what this guy is thinking about as he contentedly munches on his stick. Well done!   Posted: 05/13/2023 12:08:42
Thanks, Marie. He was pretty peaceful and laid back.   Posted: 05/20/2023 09:37:00
You have created a really nice image of this bear Barbara: it's so peaceful and encourages the viewer to reflect on its size taking in the detail your development has brought out. Love it!   Posted: 05/20/2023 16:37:46
