About the Image(s)

This image is a follow up to last month where we saw the huge size of the male walrus rolling over to the water. Once in the water started to swim and go deep into it coming out many times and then fixed his sight toward us strangers. It is the same camera the Nikon D4s with the Nikkor zoom lens 80-400 mm f/4.5-5.6 @ 280 mm and with these settings: ISO 640, f/8 and 1/800 sec. he image was PP in Lightroom and corrected for underexposure, and slightly cropped. I am attaching the original image out of camera. Also want to point out that I took hundreds of frames, but the walrus never brought the full length of the tusks out of the water while looking at us.

A fine classic portrait of a walrus. I like the detail you brought out in the processing especially the tones in the tusks.   Posted: 05/04/2023 15:53:56

Wow Isaac, what a cool image. The details are great especially on the face. As Larry said your PP work really brought out the best on this one. Bruce   Posted: 05/05/2023 15:34:26

Hi Isaac, Beautiful rendition of a walrus. You have done a very nice work in edition revealing all the detail and colour variations of this walrus and recovering the water colour.Very interesting character.   Posted: 05/12/2023 07:22:28

Very nice walrus portrait. The detail is well presented especially the whiskers and tusks. The eyes are sharp and bright and the pink skin has a nice tone. He clearly looks like a gentle giant.   Posted: 05/13/2023 08:06:46

Wow, Isaac! Once again you have shared a fabulous image of a walrus. What great details in its face. I am so curious about what this guy might have been thinking when he was watching you. Your processing was very effective in bringing out the details and colors. Nicely done!   Posted: 05/13/2023 15:30:19

Isaac, this image really pops at the viewer in many ways. His small face staring at you is amazing for such a huge animal. Perfectly developed, well done.   Posted: 05/20/2023 16:25:33
