About the Image(s)

The Northern Olingo is only found in limited areas of Central America. It is a member of the raccoon family.

I captured this olingo in Costa Rica in 2017. I used my Canon 7d Mark II. It was late in the afternoon. ISO 6400, f 7.1 at 1/640 second.

It was recorded as a Raw file and processed in Adobe software. Finishing touches were applied in Nik Software, Viveza2.

Mary, interesting animal. I was in Costa Rica recently but did not get to see one. Nice position of the Olingo and its tail, following the tree branch. The image is sharp and your PP brought out nice colors. I see you cloned out a twig and a red flower. Good job.   Posted: 01/06/2022 14:56:14

Mary, I also visited Costa Rica and did not see an Olingo. You did a great job processing this one especially handling the noise using the 7DII at 6400 ISO. You got a nice pose showing action and managed to not crop the tail. Well done. Bruce   Posted: 01/07/2022 20:22:48

Mary, what a neat experience for you. I don't recall seeing an olingo when I was in Costa Rica either. I like the clarity in its eyes! I am not sure there is anything I would suggest in addition to the edits and processing you made. Very nice image.   Posted: 01/09/2022 19:53:12

Mary, what a sweet looking animal! I agree with the other comments about your processing, which was very effective. I would love the opportunity to see an Olingo.   Posted: 01/20/2022 19:00:07
